Below are the FAQ's regarding school policy. For more in-depth information, please download the documents in their entirety listed below under Student Publications.

Academic Integrity Policy
Lago Vista High School values academic integrity and does not permit any forms of dishonesty or deception that unfairly, improperly, or illegally enhances a grade on an individual assignment, test, or course grade.

Attendance: To receive credit in a class, a student MUST attend at least 90% of the days the class is offered. For a more comprehensive attendance review, see our Quick Guide to Student Absences.

Dress Code: Clothing should conform to reasonable standards of modesty, cleanliness, good taste, and safety. Students dress is acceptable as long as it does NOT violate the following principles:
  • Articles of clothing must not cause distraction or be a health or safety hazard.
  • Appearance must must not interfere with the instructional program
  • Hair style must be clean and well-groomed and out of the eyes; any desired length that does not interfere with safety.
Dresses, shorts, skirts must be mid-thigh; NO see-through material; NO spaghetti straps, halter tops, or other similar which reveal bare midriff/backs/or low-cut fronts; NO trench coats; NO bandanas, rags, gloves, kerchiefs, or gang-related articles; No visible body piercing; NO display of information containing reference to profanity, obscenity, sexual connotations, ethnic slurs, death, tobacco, alcohol, or other prohibited substances. Use good judgment and common sense.

Drug Testing: Lago Vista ISD has a vital interest in maintaining a positive learning environment that is safe and healthy for all students. To fulfill that purpose, the District designed a random drug testing program as a positive, proactive approach to promote a drug free student body. The program is academically non-punitive. However, it is designed to teach self-responsibility and that there are consequences for misbehavior. , The District shall require all students in grades 7-12 who participate in school-sponsored extracurricular activities to undergo random drug testing.

Exam Schedule: Please refer to the calendar and the exam schedule when making any vacation or travel plans.

Tests and Absences
: If a student is absent the day of a test, the student will be given the opportunity to make the test up for full credit (provided the student is not truant.) Refer to the Student Handbook and Quick Guide to Student Absences for more detailed discussion.

Progress & Grade Reporting: Please refer to the Important Progress/Grade Reporting Dates for a list of grade reporting and how it relates to UIL eligibility.

LV High School Transcript Request
Purpose: Saturday School is designed for students to make up attendance hours or serve discipline assignments. The environment should remain focused, quiet, and structured. 

 

Arrival & Check-In
  • Students must arrive on time at 8am. After 8:10AM, no entry will be allowed.
  • Students will sign in with the teacher.
  • The teacher will review the expectations for the day by reading this document aloud.
  • Once everyone is settled, the teacher will mark attendance on the Discipline/Attendance spreadsheet.
Materials & Work
  • Student is responsible for bringing schoolwork, a book to read, or an approved academic activity.
  • Cell phones are not allowed.
  • Students may access Canvas to make up missing assignments; Some students will be working on credit recovery or Accelerated STAAR instruction on Edgenuity.
  • No sleeping, heads down, or idle time is allowed.
Behavior & Conduct
  • Silent Work Only. No talking to other students.
  • Students must remain seated unless given permission to get up.
  • Respectful behavior is required at all times.
  • Students who choose not to follow expectations will be asked to leave and will receive additional disciplinary consequences.
Electronics
  • No Cell Phones or Personal Electronic Devices during Saturday School. Only school issued devices are allowed.
  • Any personal devices must be powered off and stored out of sight.
Food & Drinks
  • Snacks may be eaten during designated breaks.
  • Water in a clear bottle is allowed.
Breaks
  • Short, supervised restroom breaks will be scheduled at the teacher’s discretion.
  • Students should use the restrooms located in the MAC.
Dismissal
  • Students must remain for the full assigned time.
  • Clean up the area before leaving.
  • The teacher dismisses students, not the clock.
